Our Story

How creativity and conflict engagement became one practice

Building Positive Peace Through Art & Dialogue

Amity Conflict Specialists, LLC is a consulting and coaching practice dedicated to fostering positive peace, psychological safety, and community well-being through arts-based conflict engagement and dialogue.

At the core of our work is a belief that conflict does not have to be a reactive, problem-solving exercise. Through our unique integration of evidence-based conflict engagement models with creative practices—visual storytelling, Photovoice, community murals, and facilitated dialogue—we transform conflict into a sustained, relationship-centered process that produces tangible cultural artifacts and lasting organizational impact.

Through our complementary division, Amity Arts, we offer workshops, retreats, and coaching experiences that use creativity as a pathway to self-discovery, connection, and resilience.

Why Amity?

What makes our approach different

Beyond Traditional Mediation

Unlike services that focus solely on resolving immediate problems, Amity uses arts-based methods to foster long-term cultural change, psychological safety, and shared meaning across organizations and communities.

Visible Creative Artifacts

Our process produces murals, photography exhibits, and storytelling projects that extend impact beyond the immediate participants, creating lasting touchstones for community dialogue.

Academic Rigor

Grounded in academic research, Ombuds practice, and community-based art initiatives, our proprietary CCEM framework is built on the principles of positive peace.

Sustained Engagement

We reframe conflict engagement as a sustained, relational process—not a one-time intervention—building capacity that outlasts any single session or workshop.
